Rating:  - Sony and Audible book files.
I have an a Sony A818 and am extremely pleased with it's performance. The earphones that come with it are very good and the sound quality is excellent. I am currently however looking to buy another MP3 player (iPod or Creative) as Sony does not support Audible book files. This is very frustrating as I'm very happy with the A818 but I'm also keen to subscribe and listen to Audible files. Just bought the 8GB version from The Sony Centre and have been listening to it for a few hours. Dead simple to put songs on and the sound quality is cracking! Model is obsolete now, so grab one while you can!

As like others i have bought this and thought, wish i got the 8G version.
The Sound - Amazing with Sennheiser in ear stereo headphones (better than the sony ones provided)
Extremely Loud, this mp3/mp4 player can go loud loud loud! assuming you have the decent headphones to listen to it at high volume.
at this price it really is a STEAL, my mates got an ipod nano, this blows it out the water and is smaller.

Rating:  - Small size...big impact!
I have to say I was shocked when I first saw the video quality on this little device - it really is crystal clear. There are other, cheaper, MP4 players on the market with a bigger screen but none have the quality this has.
The battery life is very good allowing me to watch several 2 hour long films without having to charge - something you'll be grateful for on a long-haul flight.
The video format has to be specifically MP4 but its easy to find programs to convert DVD's and such ... Read More

First time Ive had an mp3 player. Ive had this sony mp3 player a few days. Put some music on it easily using drag and drop in windows. Sound quality is fantastic, amazing you can get such sound out of such a small box, far better than an ipod i heard in a shop which to me sounded very flat. Used drag and drop for photos no problem and the screen is very clear for such a small size it can display them very clearly - you can orientate them landscape or portrait.
