Rating: - Another failure for the Samsung YP range
This is the second YP player I have purchased from Samsung, the first was the 1gb k3jzb (oh my God) try to avoid these products, both have same quirks, they stick on repeat mode without any prompting; the shuffle is limited to about 10 tracks; It decides to switch itself off when it feels like. I also had a large blue line running vertically through the display. When I returned the player to Samsung - Under Warranty - I was greeted with the most negative "customer" services team you could ever encounter. ... Read More
Rating: - Nice player but too much Design-With-A-Capital-D
My son bought this with his hard-earned pocket money and I agree with other reviewers that in most respects, it's a very nice MP3 player. It allows you to resume listening at the same point in the middle of a track after switching the player off for a while, you can search for tracks by Artist, Album, Genre, etc, fast-forwarding through tracks is fairly quick and it has quite good FM radio reception.

Rating: - Attractive versatile player
I really like this stylish little player, although there are some snags. The controls, being touch-sensitive, are a little tricky at first, but I soon got used to them. You need to use the key-lock all the time to avoid key errors, and here's a slight irritation - if you touch a button with the key-lock on, there's a beep, so when I had it in my pocket, key-locked, there was a series of beeps whenever the keys touched anything. Fortunately you can turn the beep off in the Settings menus.
The sound quality ... Read More
Rating: - Great compatibility for non-Windows users
I am very happy with this gadget. I wanted a music player I can use with either Windows or my preferred Ubuntu Linux machine, and this does the trick nicely. It plays ogg vorbis (along with the other usual suspects). This device uses the MTP protocol to communicate with the host system. This is now supported on Linux. I'm using the RhythmBox software that comes with Ubuntu/GNOME. Note that you have to explicitly enable the MTP plug-in.
Anyway, very happy. Good sound, good features, bargain price!
Rating: - Perfect little number
Personally I couldn't be happier with this player. I've been holding off for some months on buying one, looking for just the right set of features: Small, USB-chargeable, Drag-&-drop filesystem, long-life, decent feature set, and a decent price.
So far I've been pleasantly impressed on every score. Some previous reviews gave me cause for concern, but at £35 I thought it was worth the risk.
The touch-sensitive buttons are indeed sensitive. There is, however, a HOLD SWITCH for anyone engaged ... Read More
