As I was upgrading from one of these cheapo £25 512Mb ones I did not have huge expectations. I did quite a bit of research on MP3 before making the plunge, Which magazine and website, read most of the amazon reviews and other websites. The YP-T9 was rated highly in Which and the reliability appeared to be better than the Ipods. What really tipped it for me was the price. Rating:  - 14 months of joy,then it breaks.
I was very happy with this mp3 player, especially now the Samsung Media Studio has been updated. Unfortunately,after 14 mths of use, it is now not turning on,though it connects to the computer and is fully charged. As it's conveniently outside the warranty,-no help from Samsung- I'm now left to decide if I'll buy another one. Rating:  - Good at 1st,but once it goes wrong.....
Having owned this,along with a samsung lcd tv,i was initally impressed.seemed i`d gotten a bargin,great quality,for reasonable price,but...it`s Bricked up on me one too many times now,by bricked?i mean freezing on the connected/charging screen.ONLY way to resolve?unscrew the back and disconnect battery.Thus?lettin in dust etc.
Very dissapointed.Will NOT be buying another!

Just got this for Christmas (although I practically dragged my mum to the shop and pointed it out!!!). It's brilliant! It's got a great battery life and the menu is easy to use. I reckon that it's neater than an i-pod nano - since it's ergonomically better...it fits into your palm better. You can also listen to the radio ...and you can record voices or even straight off the radio (although I can't say that I've tried that bit!) This is a solid mp3 player. Easy to use, lots of functions, good quality sound. I don't use the software, I couldn't get it to work right (probably user error), but using it just as another hard disk works fine. I really like the bluetooth facility which I link up with some travel speakers. Overall, excellent piece of kit, would recommend to anyone.
