Like most modern electronic things I've had, which tend to break, die or just get a bit demented even if you look at them in a certain way... I had no great expectations for this little player.
what I wanted was a player that was simple, effective and robust. add in cheapish and I'd be happy if it only lasted a year.

Don't usually write reviews of stuff, but for this player I am, because it's so good. Mainly because it is so loud! I've tried a few players, and decided to go cheap 'cos I keep breaking them (Ipod, Iriver, Creative Zen, you name it, I've dropped it on the floor and broken it - incidentally, I also dropped this one on the floor and it didn't break!). I bought one of these about 14 months ago. I had some minor problems with it, like lines appearing on the screen that weren't usually there obscuring the display a little, buttons performing functions that they weren't supposed to occasionally, and the thing refused to be turned off sometimes. These usually happened when the battery was running low. Mine is not working properly at the moment, so I am trying to find a clever person to fix it. I've had my Mp-330 for about a year now and it's been great. It's been in almost daily use and has been solidly reliable. The sound quality is excellent. The included earphones are a bit on the large side but give a superb sound. There are 5 or 6 EQ settings to choose from and sound excellent on all of them. Windows EP users won't have to load the included software. You just drag and drop and is a piece of cake to load and navigate.
