Rating:  - A fair weather MP3-player
Unfortunately the phrase I most commonly use in association with this player is "useless heap of junk".
Let me explain. Although good in some ways - the sound quality is good (especially on heavy mode - don't bother with the headphones that come with it though, get some Sennheisers instead), and the capacity is amazing (I haven't even managed to half fill it and there are a few hundred CDs of music on there) this player is frustrating in many other ways.

Rating:  - Dont touch with a very long barge pole!
I bought this Mp3 player 2 yrs ago and at first was very impressed with it. It looked good, felt good and got lots of admiring looks from others... however... The main gripe for me is that the battery seems to last 2hr tops so I was always re-charging, and to top it all off Sony does the dirty and closes down its music web site where guess what its the only place you can buy music for this MP3. Rating: - one word "awful!"
Everything that you would want from a decent mp3 is not here. It weighs a ton, is huge compared to any other mp3 ive ever owned. The top end of the volume is far too quiet, you cant see the display in daylight. It takes an age to scroll through the menu. The battery life is not as good as advertised.the actual size of the hard drive is 18.1gb. Rating:  - Solid as a rock
Very solid player with good battery life. No use if you purchase songs online, but if you rip/dl cds then its perfect. Some original shuffling features too.
Rating: - Poor Software
Even from the word go the software for this player left a lot to be desired, it would take ages to transfer your music files onto the player and converts the music from its original format to ATRAC, thus making the files non-transferable to other players!
Creating play lists is long winded and time consuming. Accessing play lists takes a long time and usually several attempts as the buttons can be unresponsive. Also using the play list option reduces the battery life quite significantly.
