Rating: - Love/Hate relationship. Good but nothing special!!
In the last year I have owned 3 - yes 3 Rio Carbons.
The first one I recieved was for chirstmas 2005 and I have to say, back then it looked pretty awesome. The style, the shape, perfect for slotting conveniently into your pocket and compared to other mp3's going around that time the Rio carbon looked best deal and value for money, and on the bonus it looked 'interesting' and 'unique' with the white againt a silver plated back & little sign which glowed orange when it was turned on, it ... Rating: - Far better than an iPod for FAR less money
I have been the proud owner of a Rio Carbon Pearl for nearly two years (2 years in April). I bought one of these purely on reviews it received from independent sources on the web.
It came at less than half the price of an Ipod and had DOUBLE the storage capacity.
Out of the case it looks sleek and slim and has a nice light up feature when in power. It is able to read MP3 and WMA formats where as Ipods can only handle MP3. It will ALSO WORK WITH ITUNES!!!!
The software included ... Read More
Rating: - great product!
i've got my rio carbon more than one year and i am very satisfied with it. Sound is great, controlling is easy and battery still last more than 15 hours. I tried my friend's ipod for few days, but carbon is simply better for me. Bigger memory capacity, for less money. I didn't know anything about this product before i've bought it, but i am happy i got it.
Rating: - It's 'Pearl White' which is nice.
The Rio Carbon is extremely unreliable and I found it to have quite poor battery life. I have had mine for about a year now and about once a month or so it will refuse to stay switched on and you have to reset it and hope that it works. It also scratches fairly easily if you do not keep it in the ugly kevlar jacket thing that is supplied, which is a bit of a shame because it's a very nice looking player.
You should put serious thought into buying the Rio Carbon.
Rating: - I had some problems
Theres not alot I can fault about the RIO Carbon with regard to its size, looks, sound quality, functions, software, battery life. They are all excellant as many people have rightly given testement too. But after 5 months of use mine developed a fault whereby the Music Manager software could no longer read from the hard drive. The unit started making strange clicking sounds as if the HDD reader was getting stuck or couldn't read a segment on the drive. When I switched it off it continued clicking ... Read More
