Rating: - Good but lacking one important feature
The player is aesthetically well designed with a very low weight. Set up and learning to use it took 5 minutes. Audio quality is good - but the Hypersound 256 shown by Amazon states that it has a "A-B" switch, the model I received did not have this switch, instead it had an EQ button, which is a bit pointless and not very good.
One dissapointment is its inability to Random Play, an improvement would be to replace the next to useless EQ button with a random play button.

Rating: - Unsure about certain files.
I recently purchased the Yakumo Hypersound 256 and downloaded wma files straight away. However after downloading individual tracks from various albums I encountered a fault/problem with the player. If the player is connected to the PC and is played through windows media player, then it works perfectly fine. The tracks on the player can be seen using media player or explorer but when playback is used with just the player and no PC not all the tracks are played. It doesn't find some of the tracks and ... Rating: - Highly recommended!
Yakumo is not a manufacturer that I had heard of before, but having read a couple of reviews here, it seemed to have received praise from a number of users. There are no moving parts, so there is very little to go wrong. I wanted a small, light and inexpensive MP3 player with a decent capacity for a daily half hour walk each way from the office. I will never be using it for anything else except to 'walk and listen'.
At the time of writing, I have had this product for about a week. It has ... Read More
Rating: - Yakumo Hypersound 256
For under £70 this is possibly the best mp3 player on the market at the moment. It's not the biggest in terms of file storage, allowing 10+ albums in wma format to be stored on it at any one time, but its very simple to use, simply copy and paste mp3/wma files onto it via usb and click play (takes about 50secs to transfer an album). Where it is great though is the sound quality, which is great, the equalizer is superb allowing several sound modes, vital if you're listening to different music types. ... Read More
Rating: - A real bargain
The device itself is great, it looks very sporty with a nice rubber feel to it. Size wise its just a little bigger than a disposable lighter. I currently have 140 songs on it saved at 64kb WMA format which is CD quality and by all accounts no different than the 128kb MP3 format. I use Windows XP and it is just a case of pulling off the top and plugging it into a USB port. With in seconds it will be displayed as another drive. It does also come with a USB cable in so you don have to reach around the back ... Read More
