Rating:  - Small, easy to use and great for the gym.
I like many other reviewers have had much difficulty in finding an Mp3 Player that actually lives for longer than 2 months. I found what I was looking for in the Rio S30s. It is easy to use once you get to grips with it and has good sound quality especially when connected up to my surround sound system. The hold function on the Rio took a little time to find but it is there just not that obvious. Many of my friends have shown intrest in the Rio and have commented on how sexy it is. It is a shame ... To exercise for long periods without tunes is tiresome, the solution was the Rio S30.
Overall the Rio performs well, the onboard RAM is not bad (though the S35 comes with 128KB) and the ability to expand the system is a feature which is becoming hard to find in small players.
However, there are some issues with the Rio; these are only minor. The longevity of the access panel will be questionble due to the necessary AAA replacement. A similar view could be taken of the USB connector ... Read More

Having had to return a competitors MP3 player because the sound was scratchy and I kept getting interrupts on the Compact Flash memory that it used I tried my new Rio with a degree of trepidation. As a Mac user I have found it works seemlessly with iTunes software and this compact a sturdy little unit does everything it promised.
Direct connection via the USB allows the building of new playlists and the 64mb unit gives an hour of play but it is capable of taking MMC cards for additional memory. ... Read More
Rating: - Rio S30 first impressions.
Finally sucumbed to the lure of an MP3 player to add some music to workouts down at the gym and although you look pretty stupid wearing it on your arm (with the provided arm band), it is practical and does work. The design is quite clever, the Rio S30 itself snaps into a translucent flexible plastic cradle which has a belt clip at the rear. This belt clip then locates into a slot on the arm band if required.
