Rating:  - Great, then rubbish
I got one of these for my birthday three months ago, and immediately i was impressed. The sound quality is excellent, with a good range. The ability to manually adjust bass and treble settings (rather than just use presets like "rock" and "classical") is an excellent option to audiophiles like myself. The sound quality of WMA files is also excellent, undistinguishable from CD tracks.

Rating:  - Rio Volt rocks!
First things first, the sound is immaculate (if you get the headphones the right way round!),the design is really cool and the sheer emensity of the amount of things it does is mindblowing. It's case (leather I might add) is really sleek and the little window that shows the CD spinning is a nice touch. The only downside is that as much as I tried I couldn't find out how to work the MP3. Overall this is a great CD player and I'm glad I got it.
Rating:  - Very Good for Music but not for build quality
I recieved my RioVolt player today. Apart from delivery taking a long time i found the product very good. Music quality is excellent (compared to the price) and the ability to play almost all music types is brilliant. You can even download upgrades for the player, but you need a cd-rewrite for this. Before buying this product i would say you have to have a rewriter to use it as to my knowledge you can not buy MP3 CD's. The build quality of the player is not so good. Rating:  - Poor build quality
I received the Rio Volt today, and all seemed to be OK. However, when the unit kept powering off, I became rather disappointed. On closer inspection, the plastic cover on the base of the item was broken, almost hanging off!
I would also like to add that the supplied Real Jukebox software was useless as it kept giving me Exception Errors in Windows XP and shutting down.
Other than that, a fine item!
I am waiting for a replacement, and hope that this is not broken also.
Rating: - Very good for an MP3-CD player
It is very good, the sound is very good on it, volume is plenty loudenough, especially with Sony MDR-EX70LP (they only do 71 now) earphones.The main things for me are that you can't jog with it (as I need an excuseto start!), it's pretty large (not as small as the smallest CDs player youhave nowadays), Sonicblue have stopped making new firmware for it.
