Rating: - can be annoying
I got the rio about 2 weeks ago because it was such a bargain. The only problems i can find with it is that the hold button is on the on and off swith so you sometimes turn it off instead of putting it on hold. The headphones that come with it aren't very good so i wouldn't use them otherwise it is a easy to use mp3 player.
Rating: - Not so happy now!
I have had the MP3 player since August last year. It looks great, but it keeps draining the batteries when it's switched off. Very annoying when I get to the gym and realise it doesn't work.
I'm considering getting a MiniDisk player instead.
Rating: - excellent player - Good Looking and expandable
I have used this player for a few months now - and it is good looking and functions well. Downloading music is fairly simple to get to grips with and I can get approximately 20 songs on my 64MB version (MP3 quality). The menu systems and screen are easy to see and operate- Overall an excellent player with futureproof expandablility to 340MB and usb cable connection for very fast download (5 times faster than parallel port connection) - plus being a brand name RIO it is well supported for software ... Rating: - Rio 600 (64MB)
THE GOOD: it's worked very well so far (a month and a bit) THE BAD: It does eat batteries a bit quicker than I like
SUMMARY: I got mine as a Xmas pres, not my initial choice, but as I didn't buy it I ain't gonna complain (yet!) It is used for my 2-2½ hour daily total commute time.
PC Loaded the software ok, though I tend to use RealJukebox as the interface as it is MUCH easier than the one supplied. Haven't yet upgraded the firmware (currently v1.15) and ... Read More
Rating: - Usability of RIO600
The buttons are fiddly - the optional remote control may help. Even switched off it consumes excess power. Memory upgrades HAVE to come from RIO and are not standard SmartMedia or SanDisk. The software is slow and I've switched to Microsoftinthehead Media player version 7.0 which, surprisingly for a Microsoft product is much better. Overall the player is nice but over-rated.
